I Have a Question About Testing for Gluten Intolerance?
Posted by: | CommentsQuestion by Crap: I have a question about testing for gluten intolerance?
As soon as my dad makes me an appointment to the allergist I am going to go. I was wondering if an allergist can check for a gluten intolerance or does that involve going to the doctor and getting blood drawn?
Alright, thank you Jared. I did know that a negative result may not always signify the truth. I will start by eliminating until I get things checked out!

There are many tests to indirectly test for the associations found with a gluten intolerance.
The most beneficial for diagnosis are blood serum tests for various factors, antibodies and so on .. and/or biopsy of the GI tract.
That said, there are both stool and saliva tests available. These latter tests do not prove to be as accurate for or against the problem and perhaps would be best used to follow up a positive result.. though a negative wouldn’t rule out an absolute gluten problem.
